John Crane, a global leader in rotating equipment solutions, supplying engineered technologies and services to process industries, today announced the launch of John Crane Diamond® 8190, a new material application on tungsten carbide substrate for select Type 8AB Seals using clamped-in mating rings.
John Crane Diamond 8190 addresses sealing challenges in high-speed and high-heat generation applications where a clamped-in tungsten carbide mating ring is commonly required and helps customers overcome short seal life and failure mechanisms, including heat checking, heavy wear, ID chipping and blistering of carbon primary rings. John Crane Diamond 8190 is most commonly used in the oil and gas and chemical industries.
“This new offering underscores John Crane’s commitment to providing customers with solutions to meet operational challenges and extend mean time between repair,” said Terry Lemm, John Crane Product Line Director, Universal Sealing Solutions. “We take pride in partnering with our customers to reach their environmental goals, and our new Diamond material application helps to reduce water and power consumption, increasing cost savings.”
