The diversity of sensor management
If machines or other objects are equipped with sensors, they can be monitored automatically. Data is transferred quickly and reliably to maintenance software such as TOM at a specified interval. The maintenance technician can monitor the status of the machines directly via the software and thus saves a part of the working time through daily rounds and manual measurements.
Based on the experience of the maintenance technician, standard and limit values are stored in the digital maintenance planner. If the sensors measure borderline conditions, an alarm is automatically raised. The maintenance engineer can react immediately and use the CMMS/CAFM software to analyze and evaluate the situation and initiate appropriate measures.
The possible uses of sensor management are very diverse. In addition to the classic use in the industrial sector, sensors can also pave the way to predictive maintenance in facility management, in medicine and at supply and disposal companies.
