By gearbox inspection we essentially mean assessing the visible tooth flanks and rolling bearing raceways. In addition, the function of the lubricant and the external condition of the gearbox are documented.
For the inspection, the drivetrain must be switched off and secured against movement. The inspection covers are then opened and our specialist examines visible parts directly or with the help of a video endoscope. As a rule, the gearbox inspection is combined with a vibration diagnosis, as this also provides information about areas that cannot be seen.
