A consortium of OHB, C3, QleanAir, Hanselmann, Dastex, Merkle, Panterra and Dorfner took the challenge to realize the necessary 16 x 10 x 6 m³ ISO5 cleanroom within a 5 day time window, between finished construction and start integration. This cleanroom is needed for the the ESA mission Plato: A new concept shall demonstrate a 4 x 4 x 3 m³ space telescope which contains 26 cameras scanning the milky way to search and characterize earth like planets.
In the collaboration, QleanAir plays an important role by developing air cleaning solutions for critical processes where precision is key.
Dr. Axel Müller, Senior Expert Contamination Control at OHB, emphasizing the importance of trust and transparency, says that he wouldn’t risk putting an air cleaning solution in front of a large and valuable product unless he had complete confidence in its reliability.
Bo Dolk-Petersson, VP Senior Advisor at QleanAir Scandinavia, describes their relation, stating:
“We take a holistic approach to the entire value chain. OHB openly shares goals, allowing us to tailor solutions seamlessly. This transparency forms a true partnership foundation.”
Together OHB and QleanAir have successfully executed various projects, including the transformation of a lab space into an ISO 5 integration area, the establishment of a temporary ISO 5 expansion for material analogs, and the design of a temporary cleanroom for environmental testing.
The collaboration has expanded to encompass substantial projects, including the implementation of a groundbreaking 15-meter by 6-meter laminar flow filter wall, showcasing the exceptional air cleaning solutions provided by QleanAir.
