Digitalization applications in the area of machines, systems and processes can now be developed directly by the user with the help of low-code tools. However, high-quality input data images and AI function integration require special tools.
Hanover, November 2024. Whether it is about monitoring the condition of a machine, detecting anomalies for a communication network or optimizing energy to reduce a system’s CO2 emissions: high-quality data in sufficient quantities is always required to develop a suitable machine learning model. This data can be generated synthetically in a development or laboratory environment. However, the practical use of such simulation data sets is very low in industrial IoT applications.
In order to collect, prepare and evaluate the required data for the respective application directly in an OT environment, SSV is now offering a decentralized testbed as a service. This IoT Data Evaluation Testbed (SSV/ITB) was developed by SSV for AI-based soft sensor solutions. It is particularly suitable for all IoT applications in which sensor data from machines, systems and processes are required for use in a backend system.
Henrike Gerbothe, the SSV manager responsible for the product area, notes: “Many digitization projects fail not because of a lack of skilled workers, but because of a lack of OT data in the required quality. We want to change that with the SSV/ITB and our tailor-made AI-based soft sensors. In conjunction with a low-code platform, this enables high-quality digitization applications to be implemented.”
